Hiya,
We are looking at getting a windows tablet, with a docking keyboard, and professional OS for full domain access/security, MS office.
Anyone any recommendations?
So in short....
We want a tablet, but we want it to work on the domain and have office, basically.
err and we also want to be able to type in word if we want to.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

3rd February 2012, 10:25 AM #3 Ive just bought an Acer Iconia W500 tablet that comes with the docking station with keyboard and mouse on so its like a laptop for the IT Teacher (have given him a usb mouse as well as the mouse is naff!).
It comes with win7 pro so it went straight on our domain, office, SIMS, email the lot. I also set up a vnc connection to his machine in his classroom thats connected to the whiteboard so he can control his machine fully when stood at the back of the room, he loves it!

3rd February 2012, 10:40 AM #4 Samsung Series 7 Slate.
Mobile i5, HD ready screen, 2 point touch and will take Windows 8 (although no windows tablet currently meets the Windows 8 released specs). You didn't mention price, so I wont either.

3rd February 2012, 11:04 AM #6 The RM Slate will work with Office quite happily and comes with W7 Pro. However for best effect I may suggest that you try the W8 beta when it is released later this month as W7 is, to be frank, awful as a tablet OS, and after seeing (and being very impressed with) the Samsung tablets at BETT getting one with a bit more processing 'oomph' may be the way to go.

3rd February 2012, 02:22 PM #7 What about the HP Slate 2 ? After the last Epic Fail will this do any better?
It doesnt seem to be getting a lot of praise in the computer press, has anyone had their hands on one yet?

3rd February 2012, 02:37 PM #8 We have some tablets/slates running Windows 7, but they're 'proper' tablets, ie not touchscreen, but have a built in Wacom digitiser with a stylus. Still available from some manufacturers (there are models with touchscreen and stylus now).
