Question app to turn iphone into a USB stick, wittout PC software?

Ok I have done my best to look but cannot fin anything.

I carry this thing around with me, can I use it as a plug and play USB storage device without needing extra software installed?

If anyone can point out a way without Jailbreaking, I will buy them.... something...

As far as I'm aware you can only do it by using it with iTunes on the PC you connect it to. I used to use my iPod to cart files around this way between work and home.

    Avatron Software: Air Sharing

Not sure if it will work with the USB cable as a memory stick but from what I am aware you enable Wi-Fi and you use the assigned ip address and it treats it as storage that way - not really used it properly, I have it on my iphone

I used to do this with my iPod Classic too; but on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad you need to use third-party software like PhoneDisk to make the device show up as an actual disk.

iPad, iTouch or iPhone Disk Mode is made easy with Phone Disk. Using your standard USB cable, this tiny program runs in the menu bar or system tray of your Mac or PC. When it finds an iPod Touch or iPhone it seamlessly mounts it to your file system so you can directly access its files using Windows Explorer, Finder and every other program.
Once you're activated and all set up, you can connect your iProduct to your computer via USB, launch PhoneDisk and you will get access to the iPhone's folders. If your device is Jailbroken, you will get full access to all system files, folders, and more (without OpenSSH installed!). Otherwise, you will only see files related to media.

A real shame. I work all over the place and need it to be plug and play... never mind!

Part of me wish I hadn't sometimes... other times wish I would Jailbrake it!

If you plug it into an Ubuntu box (10.04 tested on) it'll mount the phone (firmware 4. something) as a storage device last time I tested it (November).

not quite as a memory stick i dont think but use the app Ifiles, that just turns your phone into a little webserver that you can log into using the IP and transfer files to and from the phone, not tried word documents and stuff, dont know if it would work.
