nah iphones use a normal ipod cable
I tried to jailbreak my iphone a few days ago and was stuck in Recovery Mode (Plug into itunes icon on the phone). Turns it out the updated modem firmware cannot be jailbroken with pwnage tool only with Blackra1n which is only a tethered jailbreak.
Anyway you can get out of recovery mode without restoring the phone by using iRecovery.
iHackintosh iRecovery Package for Windows & Mac.rarOpen a new Terminal window and navigate to the directory that the iRecovery for Mac utility was extracted to.
Connect the iPhone to your Mac with the USB cable, wait for iTunes to finish any synchronization, then enter the command below to open a Terminal interface to the device:
You will see output similar to this:

Next, enter these commands in the device’s Terminal interface:

… then reboot the iPhone by holding down the Sleep / Wake and Home buttons for 10 seconds.
blackra1n FTW worked perfectly on mine and all my colleages phones ive done.
