Hi
My parents are wanting to buy a netbook and they are not too bothered about the cost and I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations?
Smaller is better but its good to have it usable.
Windows is the preffered OS.
Cheers

I have a Samsung NC10 and it runs well for me no problems at all, ok they are not the latest network but it is reliable and alot of people have them.
James.

Just got some Levovo ones. They seem quite nice. the 6 cell battery lifts the back up abit giving you a nice typing angle, even if it does look abit wierd. 3G support too.

i'm saving up for / looking for an HP mini 5101 but it's high business class.
We had a few Packard Bell Dot's in that were sleek and sexy.
Toshiba 200 or something and also, LG XE 130 have some good specs as do the asus sea shell or whatever.
i'd go for something that has a 3G slot, so you can portable internet ad hoc if you choose without needing to hang something out of a USB socket.
Also go for one that has an ION chipset
Just got a Tohsiba NB200, running XP but you could easily put 7 on it. Works really well and has a 7 hour battery life.

I Got my mrs a Asus 1005HA Seashell with 250GB HD 1GB upgraded after a bit of hassle but battery life is superb , if only the thing would connect to my network at home i would be happy ,

I've had an NC10 for a year as my working laptop and its been great for me. The N140 is the current nearest equivalent. (the N130 has smaller battery)
You can def get it with XP Home (or Win7 according to samsung website)
And for some strange reason only known to Samsung - their current "NC10" model has built in 3G but costs a ridculous £400! I've no idea what else it does for that money.
To be honest all the £200-£300 are the same spec in terms of perf - just slightly diff display(samsung 1024x600 - dell 1024x576) or differing battery lifes and differing keyboard layouts.

Simon
@Sysman - whats the deal with an ION chipset?
Nvidia graphics so Full HD playback - NVIDIA® ION? Graphics Processors

Lenovo S10-2 is what our school bought
dabs.com - Lenovo S10-2 Atom 1GB 160GB 10.1" XPHome (M21G3UK)

COD Modern Warefare 2 capable?
Si
Another vote for the Asus here. My Mrs bought me one last christmas (EEEPC 1000 series, but can't be more accurate than that I'm afraid). Runs perfectly well on Windows XP, never had a problem with it. Good battery life, perfect if all you want is something for a bit of surfing on, bit of Office work etc.
Setup 5 Samsung NC140's and i was impressed
The Ferrari one is a decent little machine - AMD processor though rather than atom, and you might look a bit of a t**t sat using it on the train!
I nearly bought one!
