I used something called WinSetupFromUSB (google it to find a download) to install Windows Server 2003 on a server with no CD/DVD drive using a 2GB pen drive, it was reasonably easy and from what I read it suggested that creating a USB pen with XP to install was even easier.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vt_8p0VllY"]YouTube - Installing Windows XP on a Netbook Via USB (Acer Aspire One)[/ame]

If you watch this its some young guy with step by step instructions its to download a program USB_Multiboot_10 (He has the Links) Sophos didnt like one of the files productcode when i tried to extract it but if you go in and delete it that should extract fine, you will need the xp disk and product code so far its all working from my usb which is further than ive got yet.

Thanks to everyone who has helped on this as netbooks seem to be getting put into a few schools although it is probablly better in the long run to get a usb CD drive to save all the messing arroud.
