I have been 'gifted' with 28 refurbished PDA's from a local company, but am struggling to find any decent ideas as to what our pupils can use them for.
I know they can be used for things like SIMS registration / diaries etc for teachers but the Head seems pretty adamant that she wants the pupils using them
Does anyone give PDA's to pupils and if so, what do they use them for?
All I can invisage is them getting broken very quickly as the behaviour here is terrible most of the time!![]()
One of mine had a load they used for Data Logging (once - they then rotted in a cupboard). I believe some schools use them used on school trips/outside for note taking, or if they have GPS etc I guess they might be useful in Geography lessons.
Thanks for the ideas, the whole "rotting in a cupboard" thing is what I can see happening, that's why I;m trying to get as many ideas as possible!
I like the idea of using them on school trips though![]()
Sell 'em on Ebay and buy some Netbooks??![]()
We're currently trying to set up and deploy Mscape software for use with some old PDAs we have.
One of our TAs is obsessed with PDAs so we thought it'd keep her busy for a while
Check it out here:
Mscape – Get Out and Explore
and theres an HP Mediascape school edition here:

For them to break them?
Play a game and see who can be first to break one to make the head realize that the staff could make better use of them.

we had some, and we used them to give to students when they went on trips so they could note down information etc. came in pretty useful tbh.
They dont tend to be used much now, but it did work well
