I have a Orange SPV M700 (HTC P3600) and have just upgraded to N95 8GB on my old phone I have quite a few txt messages I would like to keep and transfer to my new phone.
I cannot bluetooth them across, there are too many to forward as texts as it would cost too much. Does anyone know if there is a way to get them from the mobile device?
Many thanks in advance.

Some phones let you store them on the sim card, try that.
What OS does the N95 run? I have a little app for backing up SMS from Windows Mobile 5 that worked great when I hopped between various rebranded HTC smartphones then onto a PocketPC. If nothing else, you can back them all up to text files for posterity.
tried that im afraid it stores them on the phone not on the SIM card.
Hows the N95?
I'm tempted, also the N82 and the Sony C902.
Anyone know of any 12mth contracts?
backing up to txt files would be fine. can u let me know about the program?
N95 is superb, the only thing I will say (and bear in mind Ive only had it since saturday) is that you have to regulalry charge the battery. It feel nice and light in your hand, its sits well in my jeans pocket (important!) and its got a nice quality feel to it. Very chuffed![]()

i was hoping someone would point me in the right direction of where to look on the phone to extract the txts.![]()
Watch out for the screens - I've just broken mine, for the second time :-( (new ones from £28 though) The N96 is on the way, I may get one, if the screen is better protected. I find the N95 a bit thick, the N96 is going to be a few mm thinner, and hopefully offer better battery life, using the internal GPS really uses the battery quickly, as does wifi...
As for transfering messages, I've used bluetooth in the past to transfer messages one at a time between different makes of phone.
Does the Orange SPV M700 have any Sort of data Suite Software??
the Novia Suite will backup and restore textmessages no problem, but whether or not it can get them off your old phone is another matter.
Will do, just trying to find links for the software - I have 2 apps, I can't remember which I used last. One of them is "Smartphone Studio" - http://www.airfagev.com/downloads1.asp?id=60.
Can't remember the name of the other app off the top of my head but cab files will be at home so I can link you to them later.
Edit: Other app may have been Jeyo Mobile Companion but will confirm later
If you have free texts as part of a contract, http://www.treasuremytext.com/ might be an alternative. I'm payg so don't use it!
