Default Asterisk online phonebook script

I have now put the initial finishing touches on a small script which operates as a phonebook for use with the asterisk system. It requires freepbx to work.

At the moment, it has the following functionality:
  • Extension and PIN based security for personal phone books
  • Global phonebook.
  • Personal phonebooks, based on extension number.
  • Integration with the GXP-2000 electronic phonebook (untested as yet, but testing should be forthcoming shortly).
  • Integration with the AsteriskC2D click to dial system
  • Integration with SIMS.net pupil data (via report exports)

What it doesn't have:
  • Any way to edit the global phonebook

But then, all of these will be coming soon, amongst other features, such as outlook integration (I hope).

Comments, suggestions, bugs, improvements etc... are all welcome.

Also, this is the first of a variety of Asterisk related things I will be producing/releasing, and will eventually have it's own website.

Finally, I got some of the basic information about the GXP-2000 from voip-info.org - voip-info.org

Looks useful. I don't have any aastra phones, but I will see what I can get from it.

Cheers!

Just a quick update, I've now got basic authentication in the form of it using the SIP secret as the password to log in, and am half way through writing the code to integrate with SIMS.net.

Should have an update by the weekend.

Another version up now. V1.1.1.

It implements security checking on the personal phone books and also fixes a problem with the click2dial scripting where the extension number wasn't passed.

Some really impressive Work @LocalZUK.

We have just made the decision to go with an Asterisk System.
We have opted for a supported system to cut down on initial time investment.

I can recommend the below company for handsets, they seem the cheapest around.
broadbandstuff.co.uk | Voice Over IP - VOIP

I had a chat with LocalZUK today, his work on the SIMS integration is something we will defiantly be building on as its ideal integration to the school MIS. I am looking forward to seeing some screenshots of LocalZUKs work so far. Many thanks in advance

I shall post when we have more information on our install of the phone system.

As I can't edit the original post, here are some photos.

There does seem to be a small bug at the moment for me where contact records are being duplicated. I'll look at this shortly.

Also, note the last shot doesn't have any actual details in it - this is due to my not having any fake data to show, so i've blurred out the real details. The blue globe icon at the top shows a google map of the address, and the blue phones call the click2dial script for the number next to it.

Also, at some point, I intend to move away from the existing click2dial script, and to create one in php, to allow a more tidy integration between the 2.
