Hide the PIN when unlocking iPad

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop an iPad from highlighting the buttons as you press them when unlocking an iPad? We want to connect our staff iPads to the projectors using AirServer, but this displays everything, including the PIN unlock screen, so if a teacher's iPad locked during a lesson, the whole class would see their PIN as they unlock it.

might be easier to train staff to disconnect from airserver or turn off projector first

I'd rather find a solution! If there's something I can do to prevent this, that has got to be better than training 70 teachers, then reminding them every few months, then training any new staff each September. Plus, even with training, someone will forget, and it only takes one mistake for something bad to happen.

Use the remote to put the projector on another input that will not show them the ipad screen , enter the unlock code and put the video source input back to the mirrored input

Yep or the pause/freeze/unfreeze function on the projector to freeze the blank keypad image whilst they tap their code in.

Better, but it still requires repeated training to remind people (plus some of the remotes have gone missing). Also, one of the advantages of the teachers having iPads is that they're not bound to the front of the room; so having to go back to the desk for a remote isn't ideal, and if the teacher keeps the remote with them, they'll walk off with it at the end of the lesson!

My Samsung Android devices have an option to make the unlock pattern visible or invisible, does the same thing really not exist for iOS?

I don't believe it's so difficult to tell the teachers to disconnect from Airserver while typing their password into the iPad? Surely they know how to do this?

As I've already said, I would feel much happier with something automated. It makes things easier for the teachers and saves me time in reminding everyone and remembering to tell new staff.

Also, I don't believe you CAN disconnect from AirPlay while the iPad is locked...

There's an app for jailbroken devices that can hide the numbers but the circles are still there.

Teachers won't be able to manage that. It's too complicated!

Contact them and make them aware of this issue and they may be able to update or add this as a new feature

Just checked on our Ipads and on the Ipad 2 Wifi running OSx 7 you can unlink from air server slide the screen up and you get the little menu with setting / control tab options

We've got 30 staff ipads here and we trained it into them, same way we trained them to not stick passwords on monitors, or search for daft things with out checking on the net. There are still some that forget but on the whole they do it... Be persistent

I agree! There will be too many teachers who will leave it on the wrong input which will cause the next teacher to say their projector "isn't working" and require an IT technician to fix it.
