    Surface with Domain login

Anyone using them? One member of staff has asked for an iPad (take iPad as a word for portable solution) and I am thinking a Surface that they can login as themselves and they get their emails and files. We have a CC4 network but I am not that bothered about it being CC4'ed

Are you talking Surface RT or Pro.
RT doesnt have domain logins. RT is/was cheap Pro isnt.

We have Acer Iconica W510's on CC4. [Partially... we need to do an upgrade to CC4.4 to support win8]

Upgrade is next week, I'll get them sorted and let you know how they go if you want.

Well, which ever is needed. If it's Pro, anyone one using them? MS site lists the Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro, no mentions of RT any more.

You may have to remind me.

Server upgrades and a full site rebuild are going to shift EVERYTHING else out my head.

Not using the Surface pro no, its very expensive for what it is.

If they want an ipad just let them have one, we have half our staff using ipads and they work fine for what they do (email, registers, showing presentations).

It's accessing documents is the main thing plus shared calenders when in meetings etc. For that, an iPad is out. When I use mine, I just RDP back to my main machine.

Apparently they call it that to reduce confusion.

    Effective innit?

If I were to go for an inexpensive Windows tablet, this would be pretty high on my list. Latest generation Atom, can run Windows Pro, $400 so hopefully around the £320 mark here if there's any justice.

I like the Transformer, I had the first Android one for a while and that would suit the user ideally.

For reference, our tablets were about £400

Just out of curiosity, what app do they use to take registers?
