It's also available for Android devices too (might be worth updating the thread title?)...

Yeah. Why did Microsoft buy iTap if they had RDP apps for iOS and Android almost ready to be released?

This is both great and somewhat annoying. I can now RDP from my IOS or Android tablet but NOT from my MICROSOFT bought and paid for Windows 7 Home Premium?!? BAH!

Microsoft are working on a Windows Phone RDP app too.

According to The Next Web, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that a Remote Desktop app for Windows Phone was in the works, though there's no specific timeframe for that launch yet. "Remote desktop on phones is a relatively rare usage scenario," the statement reads. "That said, we are working on a version of the app for Windows Phone. We'll be able to share timeframe at a later point in time." It's still a little surprising to see Microsoft's own OS play second fiddle to iOS and Android, but hopefully Windows Phone users won't have to wait too long. (Source)

It's a pretty good app for free and a new release

I still prefer Jump though (they did do a fee version)

Does portrait/landscape orientation, pop up keyboard, drag and select and gesture control.

iTap (and indeed the MS rebrand) and a lot of others suffer the issue whereby you can't drag and select text, which is important for our tablet trails since we want students to use Android tablets to use Word, excel outlook etc using Windows 2012 metro interface and touch optimised Office 2013..Jump rdp has no issues.

Ps the MS Andriod/IOSrdp is also the fastest client I have tested vs all others, it will even stream video reasonably with some dropped frames on remotefx and windows 2012, compared to a bitmap slide show for other clients

The native rdp on the surface RT and 8 were the best ones though, I was streaming full screen HD video via Vimeo smoothly ...incredible, scrolling large PDF and word docs were butter smooth too, and this is through a 512k ADSL upload!
