    iPads in a classroom

We are planning to buy 30 iPads for a new room that is being refurbished, along with 2 Apple TVs.

Is there anyone near the Preston / Blackpool in Lancashire area that already has this in operation?

We have 1 Mac and 2 Mac Mini's and tried installing Meriaki on them but they don't show up on the dashboard even tho the client is installed.

Could do with seeing some iPads in operation, how they sync and how new apps are managed.

I already have Apple VL accounts, but its very confusing.

    Thanks

There's a good chance they are being blocked by your firewall.

Need to speak to the County LEA to ask them as I have opened the ports on my firewall.

Apologies if you have already seen this.

I've just been looking at the same issue and found this iOS 6 Education Deployment Guide. There was a link on the Volume Licence site. I've literally just downloaded it so not read it yet.

We have about 50 iPads and have started using the Apple Volume Licensing scheme. It's a bit of a faff to set up initially but after that its easy enough to use.

I use the Meraki MDM to manage the iPads and deploy the apps and it works very well. Plus it's free!

Won't Bluetooth work to link them to an IWB rather than using an Apple TV?

We want to show what they have done on the iPad rather than controlling the iPad

You might want to look at Airserver instead of getting the Apple TVs, it's much cheaper!

Reflector App is great as apple TV alternative. Can be deployed and is cheap.

Have tried both AirServer and Reflector. Got on better with AirServer because everything is already in place (no need for HDMI to VGA adapters etc) and hella lot cheaper that Apple TVs, but it is probably worth trying each first.

Airserver etc. is dependent on your network layout being compatible tho.

Buying a Mac Mini Server and 2 apple TVs for them in the end.

So just need to find out what they want to use the iPads for.
