Tablets (IOS and Android) Connection to Projectors

    Hi All,

One of our members of staff would like the ability for students and staff to connect their tablets and smartphones to display on a projector.

They would like to support both Android and IOS (and windows!)

Is anyone aware of a media streaming device that support this? or projectors that support it out of the box?

    regards

Are you trying to display the screen ?

Maybe a VNC Server or something similar

Yes we would like to display the screens and audio. The problem with the VNC solution is that for Android it requires rooting, and i imagine streaming media through VNC isnt going to go too well performance wise? Ideally we would like a hardware solution such as WLAN 11n VGA Projector Server with Audio | WLAN & Bluetooth | Networking | LINDY UK but preferbly not £500+ pounds.

I would go with AirServer for the Windows Machines - and then Apple has built in the AirPlay and you can get AirPlay apps for Android.

This does look useful, do you use that solution?

Personally not much to an air-server beyond playing. I use AirParrot from my Windows machine to an Apple TV's we have in out meeting rooms.
