I'm looking at Insight as a possible system to distribute reports to parents online. What experiences have people had with it and how much would a secondary school of about 1000 kids expect to pay?
Recommendations for other systems welcome too (though SLG I already have experience with). :)
We've been using it for 2 years and it had been very reliable. Cost for 1000 pupils around £1500 for the app and around £1000 per year for support. The support is excellent. PM your email and I will get them to send you more details.
It seems to look good and that price seems cheap. @jenny_urey lurks here, you could ask her.

We have been using Insight for around 18 Months and it has been very good, can display Attendance, Behaviour and Assessment and any reports uploaded to the Document Server in SIM’s are displayed on Insight. At the moment we are still producing paper reports as well but are looking at only having these on Insight and only supplying paper reports on request, which another school in the borough has done with great success.

Can you run Insight on a server away from the SIMS server?
Yes you can. We have it running on a separate server and are looking to move it onto a virtual server over the summer.Quote:

Good thing with Tasc Software is they will try and add a new feature or tweak for you if you need it, they seem to go out of their way more than any company to make sure the product does what you want it to. Its hard to fault them, infact i cannot, they price the products fairly, and give support like no others.

It was very easy, the support given was excellent (as is the online documentation). It can be quite easily customised to your school as well. Just waiting on the big bang when it goes live for all students, staff and parents.
Thanks for the info guys. It's been manic here so I had to backburner it for a bit. Shall be following up more when the summer hols are a bit less mad. :)

Can't believe how good it is, funny how I missed all these threads on edugeek originally!
We are just adding in students with Tasc's AD link as well, as we keep getting students asking us if they can access Insight for various bits of information.
