Fully Web Based MIS
I need a list of which MIS Systems are fully web based, which would be suitable for mainstream Local Authority Primary and Secondary schools and whether they are on the IMLS Framework
Our current MIS contract will be coming to an end in the not too distant future and my Director of Service has asked me to find out what else in on the market, so that we can arrange to have demonstrations of their systems
The list I have so far is:-
ISAMS (seems to be mainly independent schools but I may be wrong)
Can anyone add to my list please?
This link : http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-sy...tml#post807968
has the IMLS list but includes non web based too.
Novatia is Follett / Aspen.
Histon House is ScholarPack
Wauton Samuel is PASAPP
I don't think ISAMS is on there, but you're right it is good for Independents, but saying that i've heard of many happy customers.
I have a feeling, from talks at BETT, Scholarpack weren't yet as geared up for secondary school, and ALL functions, but this will have changed in 6 months.
Personally, i'd say ASPEN tops the ranks as it is flexible, allows config, db access, open source and has auditing (yay!) . You can read bits and bobs about the others in various threads.
It's worth considering how they link to VLE, if you have one or are considering and the functions / cost of that.
Thanks for your replies
If any other MIS Representitives are reading this and I have missed you from my original list, please reply as I don't want to miss anybody out
Is it? Or do you mean it can use MySQL etc?

Sorry, yeah, that's what i meant. Open standards and supports customising.
Better brush up on my Java skills ;)
Gonna convince your whole LA to change ? @GREED will be a busy boy ;)

@matt40k yep, and i'll swing the vote and we'll split the prize ;) I'm sure a bottle of vino can be split easily enough :)
My sources have been spotting @GREED already all over the UK selling his wares, he moves faster then Santa on xmas!! Sure I can leave a drop out for him next time his down our way... that's all that will be left after it's been passed round the office, if his lucky he'll have a Capita sweetie to go with it ;)
I wondered who all those people were following me ;)
Sorry, I said you had donuts and coffee. Just encase you were thinking of quiting and becoming a male model.
Tried that... Wasn't much call in the modelling world for a 27 yr old who looks like a 20 yr old, but thinks like a 50 yr old and acts like a 35 yr old...
That is I look young, think like a grumpy old man and act like I'm in a mid life crisis ;-)
Is that why you bought a convertible sports car and insist on driving around under the speed limit with the top down in the pouring with the rain? ;)
