@fiza - that's what we say too, do the upgrade as "SA" - the network manager doesn't need to have a login to SIMS then, then the data manager can do the rest - our document has the bit about importing the fileset, suprised it was missing from Capita's document, was excepting it after Importing the latest versions of SIMS .net reports
Mmm... I think a note about manually import a fileset would be better then a release. The issue with Assessment could be done as an application patch, schools could then either update again, download the SIMSClientUpdateSetup.EXE and put it in the setups directory or if it's solus3, apply another package.
Does an upgrade through SOLUS3 import the fileset? You have to provide the SA details in SOLUS3 when adding the SIMS database info, so wondering if it's not imported upgrading this way?
No, SOLUS3 doesn't currently import fileset, I've asked and it's on the list, but I've not poke them too much for it as it isn't too bad a job.
I did raise the issue that SA user can't import the fileset and was basically told it would be a security hole if it could, which actually, it would be so I agree with them.
I would like to publicly thank Phil Neal and the Support Team at Bedford for the excellent support that we have been given in getting SOLUS3 working to deploy the re-issued Spring Release.
All being well, deploying the updated release once it is available will now, hopefully, be seemless!
I must add that most of our problems were caused, not by withdrawing the original release (inconvenient though it was!), but by a failure on our part to follow though with SOLUS3 for the past few upgrades.
A further delay in releasing the Updated Spring Release due to another Support Case.

It'll give our Staff a respite from deploying (or re-deploying) upgrades.
An extra day to pursuade 'em all to get those laptops logged on to the network and leave 'em there ready for the appointed deployment time! :)

Just had confirmation SupportNet is down.
Also, the team is working over the weekend, to try and get the newly fixed release ready for COP Monday.
Still no SupportNet, starting to get worried... where will we go for support?
