Does anyone use Sims and also USE IE7 Group Policy settings?
Also would making a new policy called IE7.policy linked to an OU called Admin Computers cause a SIMS server under a seperate OU group called SERVERS to apply any settings made in that policy?
Btw, would setting a policy go out to OU's that its not linked to? Would making a change like "Disable Phishing Filter" and "Disable Internet Connection Wizard" in the OU effect a server its not linked to? Thats the only change i've made.
Also - by unlinking the policy, does policy settings still apply to the OU afterwards?
Sorry about all the questions, im annoyed sitting back watching and no matter how I explain to the SIMS guy, he insists it can effect a server its not being applied to! Arg,
Please help, a simple yes or no, or if you have weird OU and policy settings.
Also apparently we are not setting the workstations up correctly anyway. Ive now goto change environmental variables to the old 98 style and also set user account permissions on the local machine to effect domain users?
Yet its worked fine for the past 2 yrs ive been working here. Arg I think they are looking for excuses as to why SIMS doesnt want to launch its SIMSINST.exe then run the other seperate applications.
