We have the error shown in the screenshot below at present when we attempt to validate a template. I cannot find anything on supportnet about it. Has anyone else seen this and are you able to offer any pointers?

It wouldn't let me upload it as it kept saying I needed to log in, despite being logged in!
There's an error being caused by a macro. SIMS does use macros in Word but I've never seen it cause an error; are there any other add-ins installed? Try turning off all add-ins if there are any and try again
There was a thread a while back about issues with validation. I can't remember what the error was, but i think it was more meaningful. Capita had told the user that it was due to the length of the template.
Is it on all templates? Try a new small one. Clone the original and remove half of it and see what happens.
Ultimately, if the preview is okay, you don't actually need to validate, so long as you are taking a known working template, and are careful with any edits.
