Re: Automated CMIS Backup
No, if the sql server is fully backed up then there isnt a need to backup cmis individually every day. It would be a good idea to back-up this way before upgrades etc...

Isn't there an equivalent of SIMS's Docgument Server or does everything reside in the SQL database?
@budgester
AutoIt might be overkill if no GUI interaction is needed. If it's question of starting a scheduled task then a batch script might be enough.
Re: Automated CMIS Backup
@Networkgeezer - im not 100% sure but i think you may be right but im not sure where the folder/document structure resides?
anyone?
Re: Automated CMIS Backup
If you are using document storage within cmis, the folders used are designated in Database¦Document Storage¦Settings..
Re: Automated CMIS Backup
I believe the only databases that need backing up on the SQL server in order to do a full restore are the actual CMIS database and the Master database too, without the master database you'll have no end of problems trying to restore the data.
Re: Automated CMIS Backup
Even though I do auto SQL backups - I still generally do a CMIS backup once a week or before any updates/year end etc. It's quicker to be able to restore one data set etc when you screw year end up again!!. I asked Serco for auto CMIS backups over two years ago - I guess it went the same way as the new reporting system.
