Performance Issues in SIMS

Wish you all a very Happy New Year.
We are trying to run the interim reports, but it took 6 days in the last term for 2000 students. Does any body else experience this issue, please share your views.
We are on Sql Server 2008 and we also have patnership Xchange.

How are you compiling your interim reports? Have you looked at the load on the server when trying to print?
