SIMS Server side to be 64 bit
Directly quoted from my email from Capita - names missed off deliberately.
Further to our conversation this afternoon please below your requested information, I hope all that we covered on the phone will be contained in this email, but please let me know if I have missed anything off.
I can confirm that Windows 7 will be supported after the SIMS Spring Release has been implemented at the school (scheduled to be released tomorrow).
We do support 64 bit servers (this is very recent) and we shall be making this a permanent fixture in all future releases after November 2010. This means that you will need a 64bit server (preferably Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008R2 if you intend on running Windows 7 machines) although workstations will have to be 32 bit to use modules such as NOVA.
SQL Server 2008 R2 should be supported from the summer release of SIMS.
