CMIS External Viewing??
I am looking at the possibility of publishing CMIS to admin users externally.
This will form part of the thin clients roll out planned for the school and to have external access to a desktop; the same desktop the user sees when they are at school and external to the network which would include MS Office, their work area, shared area etc.
am i allowed under the DPA to allow CMIS externally?
if not then why not?
if yes, what are the measures which need to be in place?
Anyone else been able to do this for their management system?
Staff have ePortal access externally, would publishing CMIS be allowed also?

By CMIS I assume you mean the full Facility Administration application?
I would say you can publish it if you are happy to do so and follow all the correct Data Protection procedures that your establishment and LEA have in place such as 2 factor authentication if applicable etc...
I have fired an email over to our LEA service desk and ask for thieir views and opinions.
