Has any one had a user in SIMS.net having the same Fault Code come up and then will crash out of sims? The Fault Code is: 1066-0174-9900 Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation system reflection target invocation exception.
I have phoned capita and the just is extremely difficult to diagnose and replicate and is a combination of local network and software config. Appologies for any inconvienience caused.
Have you added Commandtimeout=10000 to your connect.ini?
Are you editing loads of records?
Thanks for the response
Do you mean the sims.ini on the local machine or the server? Also the user isnt editing lots of records. It seems to do randomly and sometime when only editing one thing at a time.
are your workstations trying to upgrade before the error, think were having similar issues with 2 or 3 staff laptops.
the upgrade fails throws an error like that then tries to use the old install but will not let you log in. I did write the error code down today but cant bloody find it im having a really rubbish fortnight :-(
Depends, workstation I assume, however if you have a redirect in your local connect.ini (c:\program files\sims\sims .net), then the central connect.ini (normally s:\sims).
It maynot even help, if it does, it might point to a slow server\network. If it doesn't try another workstation, generally you'll want a dual 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, xp workstation for sims.
The problem with SIMS is 99% of the checking is down on the client, so when you think your just add 1 detail to a students record, you actually checking a whole bunch of things.
Note "Connect.ini" not SIMS.ini in the previous posts.
CommandTimeout=suitablylargenumberhere in the connect.ini does help with (unsurprisingly) timeout issues.
Is it a PC or a user with the problem (or widespread)?
Check for the application version number being correct on the problem PC.
Try resetting the SIMS .net user account.
Try a different windows account and same sims .net account.
Try the user on a different PC.
I agree with matt40K - decent workstation is a must for SIMS.
