Not quite like a servlet, but similar. A webpart is a dll file on a Windows machine, and it gets loaded wherever you place it on a sharepoint page.

And, so long as 'IronPython' works as CLR code when compiled, I don't see why not.

Charting is OK - it's the issue of not being able to access the data within SIMS in the right way, and not being able to access it outside of SIMS without having to export it first...

I'm not very expert on this but I wondered if something couldn't be done using the CTF. We just imported all our ULNs via CTF so it ought to be possible to create an XML file with the appropriate fields for email address and import a via CTF or am I being naive

I know this is an old thread, but I need to import about 1000 e-mails into SIMs and would like not to have to ask one of our admin staff to do this! I've downloaded AutoIt having come across this thread and although I have some programming skills, I don't have the time to play with it (thought it would be more like a macro recording, so I could cheat and actually do the first one, then check the script to see what commands to use)....does anyone have an AutoIt script (or at least something to get me started) that they would be prepared to share?

If you do want the patches from Capita, you can request them from your support. You'll need #17188, a script, then #17195

Is that the one where you need a D: drive with a csv file? Or the one that generates it based on the admission number?

@MicrodigitUK's solution is popular and has an excellent reputation :) , but haven't tried it myself.

I got grumpy a couple of weeks ago because I had a big csv file of contact details referenced against admission numbers to input and wrote to Capita and told them so! After telling me several times that it wasn't possible I got a response from one of their Sys Analysts with the patches "#17188, a script, then #17195" @vikpaw mentions above and instructions on how to use them. If you'd like a copy as an alternative solution, let me know and I'll send them across. Don't know if it works as I haven't had time to try them.......

CSV , but it will also work on root of C: drive now, and if required it's trivial to alter the .sql to add another IF clause or just hard code it, if indeed you have a PC without either C or D drives :lol:
I have another one that does it by admission number that was custom written for me, but locked to a particular version and when i asked for the version to be 999'ised as i like to refer to it, they sent me this new method.

If you want a patch altered, get them to do it, then it'll have a signature so it'll apply via dbupgrade.

It's okay, that will only happen if i find myself without a C or D drive in which case, there's probably no SIMS either and if that happened on the server, i'll be on the next flight out. ;)
