Shall I be the first to ask the fateful question? Has anyone applied the June update yet and what did it break?
oh heck! I'm still fixing the May "fix", by having to reinstall .net 1.1 AND .net 2 on laptops!!!!!
Yeah still installing .net Framework
Go ahead break it then let us know how you fix it lol
Not for me at the moment
Ever since we put the May update and .net 2 on, our SIMS has been going ludicrously slow. Especially when trying to open My Marksheets etc...it can take 5-10mins to open it.
It certainly is, prior to this update the my marksheets section would open in a matter of several seconds :(
I accidentally installed the June update last night, been a nightmare installing the infrastructure update on all the machines but no problems with the actual release.
We only usually install the major updates here after Capita have consistently messed up patches and updates over the last few years.
Well its been abit of both with us. We updated it and it broke! The client software updated but not the database.
Once the database was updated using the dbupdate tool we was away. All of our clients updated fine when we normally have problems and sims seems to be faster.
No complaints so far, except for three machines with out-of-date .net framework versions (which should have been updated anyway, obviously, so at least I get to know which ones were out of date). Do still need to update FMS.
Hey, maybe we should start some kind of rota? Have a different person each month who gets to be the one who installs the update and tells the rest of us if it's okay or not...

I haven't even installed the May update yet:rolleyes:
Got copies of both the SIMS and FMS databases at Capita for them to resolve problems. FMS we've suddenly had 5 year old statements appear in the reconciliation and with SIMS it keeps randomly adding extra teachers in Profiles reports. Don't want to install another update till they've fixed the problems.
The client on the server failed to update, can I just run the simsapplicationsetup on the server?
Didn't try it to be honest. But it happened to all clients so i dont think that would sort the issue. It was a database issue.
The only issue I had with the June update was with our TS.. SIMSLoad failed to find the updated files... it eventually did so no problems really.
Will be doing it this weekend, as I didn't want anyting to go wrong for our exams/admin ladies who are doing reports at the mo :)
