Just been asked this one by our techs who are stumped, makes two of us!
A member of our office team has Safari hijacking Linked Documents. Everytime we open one it opens as a garbled mess in their browser instead of opening in Word etc. Any idea why?
I have the same setup on mine but it works with XML files set to open in MSOXMLED.exe Both are WinXP systems.
Does it use Safari when you try to open an actual XML file or is it just linked ones?Quote:

If resetting the file association doesn't work, i'd suggest a reinstall of Office.
I did have one machine where this would happen, but luckily it opened in both the relevant office app and also in IE. I'm assuming your use has Safari as default.
In fact it might be worth changing the default browser back to IE for testing.
Otherwise, reinstall the PC painful as that might be.
