The support site hasn't changed either - Serco firstline - Facility Support is still there and you logon as normal the servicedesk and forum is alive and well :)
1mil for the out right IP to a MIS(s) seems pretty low. Est. of 2000 schools paying an average of £5k a year in licencing brings in a revenue of 10mil a year.

I think that you may find that, with Serco and the rest of the service sector losing contracts and needing to rationalise, Serco needed to raise some cash quickly and limit their liabilities. This led to a quick sale and, hence, a cheaper price than would normally be expected.
