Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
SIMS Connection failed for login USERNAME reason 7
You do not have permission
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Advice This error occurs if you are using SQL Server 2000 service pack 4 and are on the August 2007 release of SIMS .net
To resolve the error you need to action the following.
Please run i.e D:\Simsroot\Sims\setups\SIMSSQLApplicationsetup.ex e v1.558.12.0
This will update the Binn directory on the SQL Server
From i.e C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SIMS\Binn
Please run SQLTools.exe
Go to File | Manage SP4 SQL 2000
In the Manage SP4 window double click on the SQL 2000 instance
Click the Connect button
Ensure that the tick is in the Enable Sims Security box
Click ok this will save the changes
Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
I can confirm that this worked for me.
Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
Looking at my current SIMS install I do not appear to have a sysman account anywhere 8O I've looked in system manager and in the SQL database itself under users. Do I need to create the sysman account? I just login using my own but that has full permissions

Worked like a dream - ran it on my test system and it fixed the problem so have now implemented in on my sql box. Thank you DMcCoy! LEA still have not responded as of this morning....
Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
We updated to Aug - but only installed SIMS.net not SQL updates or FMS conversion thing....
Sims.net is working fine... will wait to see how people get on installing SQL etc before we rush in!
What I don't understand is.. we are on SQL 2000 Enterprise... Do we need to upgrade to 2005 Enterprise - or the free version bundled with Sims?

Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
I have done the August Update and found that in Lesson monitor some of my teachers timetables dont appear correctly. It shows blank grey square but not class name. if you double click grey square then you get class but.
Any suggestions

Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
I suspect this is because your classes are not live yet.
Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
It seems ok for subjects like English, Maths & Science though
Thanks
Re: SIMS August Main Release is here
I wonder if the dates on those classes are different. If not then please log a call.
