Urgent Help needed.. Can't logon to sims.net

Hi,

We have been experiencing sims problems and advised to run the indexing patch....Ran the patch, never finished and received an error ( I don't know what the error was as I was never there to see it)

We can no-longer login to sims with an error stating :-

"unable to set application role"

Any Ideas ???

Database is still locked, if you've got management studio I think it'll say it's set as restricted_user. Change it multi_user should do it

alter database sims set multi_user with rollback immediate

Failing that, restore it from the backup it created. Actually that might be safer

How do I do a restore from the backup it created??

Backup will be located in the backups directory within the default SQL Server application location on the server (usually D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SIMS2008\MSSQL\Backup), you will need to run dbattach.exe from on the server to restore.

Yer, what Paul said. Run dbattach and restore from the latest backup in your mssql10.sims2008\backup folder.
