Can anyone point me in the direction of what exceptions should be plugged into the AV software on the SIMS server?
I looked at supportnet for the sticky item mentioned by Phil Neal here but nothing seemed applicable (it has been a while), I searched for the article mentioned here but support net seemed to die.
In fact trying to use supportnet has had the usual effect of reducing me to a quivering wreck, rocking back and forth in my chair, strumming my lip and shouting 'wibble!'.

21st February 2012, 02:43 PM #3 Personally, turn off on access scanning.
Far as SIMS goes, exclude mssql10.sims2008 directory, the docstorage directory and it's normally a good idea to exclude legacy SIMS directory - they normally lock the file when in use and they don't like letting go so the AV can scan it - rarely happens nowadays.

21st February 2012, 02:48 PM #4 As mentioned in that post exclude the setups folder, as staff shouldn't be writing to that, but it gets read every time sims startsup. So worth putting in an on write / on change rule. You could do that to most of the sims share folders in fact.
I couldn't see the sticky either, but maybe someone like @PhillipHamlyn can advise.
