    Person ID Attribute

When i run some predefined reports (attendance in this case), and export the data as XML the students are identified with a field "PersonIDAttribute".
This appears to be a unique reference for each student (im assuming that its referenced in the SQL tables somewhere)

I want to match up this field to admission number (this is the reference for all my other data exports from assessment and user defined reports.)
Does anyone know where i can match the fields up? i cant find it as a field in reporting anywhere.

    Hi,

My guess would be that you need to give your account "Third Party Reporting" permissions in SIMS. This exposes the CESThirdPartyFields categories in the design reports screens. There's one in that called ID, which might be it.

    Regards,
    David

Just as an addition to this, like you I always used admission number as my ID field in external systems, however I found that guest students do not receive an admission number, therefore I always use this person ID in my own systems now too - every student receives this regardless of admission status.

    thanks for the suggestion.
makes a lot of sense, i just want one number consistent throughout. I don't care what it is and as i cant change the defined reports (which sometimes are quicker to run than creating a new user defined one).

How many unique ID's do we have for students now? Person ID, UPn, ULN, Admission number, cashless number, username.....

in the mean time till i change my reports over at least i can do a look up for all the numbers now.

There's also an "External ID" in amongst the thrid party reporting fields - why this is needed when the person ID is just as easily accessible is beyond me!

The Exernal ID is a GUID, which means it will be unique in the world, whereas a personid is only unique within the same SIMS install.
