Moving lesson times in Nova T6 [Solved]
Hi
New to timetabling - inherited a timetable that needs a few tweaks.
How can I move 1 of 2 classes that are blocked together
Maths - Monday P5 and Thursday P5 are correct - don't want to move them
They are blocked with Critical Thinking - want to move from Monday P5 to Monday P2
Is there an easy way?

5th October 2011, 01:18 PM #2 I think you can just add Critical Thinking to a block that has Monday period 2. On Model screen drag the subject onto the block where you want it, one that fits into the timetable where you want it. Or you could make a new block for it. Assuming things don't clash with eachother and other resources. That's a simplistic way to look at it, there maybe locks and complications on your system, but you can try it. Just remember to save the dataset as a new name, so you can go back to the previous one if it goes wrong. and don't delete the existing working subject / block, leave it and add a new one for now.

Maybe you should post this, with further details and maybe a couple of screen shots of your model for that year group, into the Curriculum Management forum of SupportNet.
What you want to do may not be as easy as you think. Moving the class is simple enough, dependent on your blocking patterns, but what about the pupils currently in that class at that time? And what are the pupils assigned to at the time you want to move the class to? They have to have alternatives in both slots!
Apologies if you have already got that sorted but, as you are asking what is a relatively 'simple to answer' question, I was just concerned that you do not mess up other arrangements that may be in place.

Hi - It was a sixth form clash that only involved 2 students and 1 member of staff. The changes were made and it looks like it has worked. Thanks for your reply.
