SLG and Assessment Marksheets - Slow to load?
GENERAL REQUEST FOR FEEDBACK
Hi Guys. We have a couple of schools who are trying to access large marksheets via SLG (80 columns plus, and comments included).
When we try to access these they are taking up to 10 minutes to open in the browser. The same issue occurs whether we access it at the school, on our broadband network or via ADSL.
Can anyone verify that they have schools with large sheets that open and render in a "normal" amount of time? I am thinking it may be our dual factor integration that could be causing the issue.
Please can you reply letting me know if you use SLG with or without dual factor authentication.

It was generally slow for us to load, until we changed the options to display 10 students to a page.
How much RAM do you have in your DB server as this will also have a big effect.

Hmm, I will try that, but the RAM in the DB server is unlikely to be an issue, as locally the data pops up within seconds. As it is a secondary admin server it will have minimum of 8GB

Do you have comment fields? I suffer the exact same problem and we haven't been given any update. Expect a long wait for a fix.
Until then you can only add less columns in the marksheet. I tried to cut the rows per page setting to 10 but then the marksheet began failing to save marks. Frankly the Assessment web-part feels far from ready for live launch so I wouldn't use it for more then very simple marksheet entry.

Yes, the schools in question have comment fields on the marksheets. The issue with the grid default value is documented on Supportnet but this is not. There are another couple of replies on supportnet that seems to indicate that this is a SLG issue.

Yes we found that the site was much faster in Chrome.
