[SIMS] Solus 3 installation

Hi

I'm sorry if this has been covered already but I am having problems installing Solus 3. Upon running the Deployment Server Database installation, it goes through and then comes back saying that the installation ended prematurely and the installation fails.

Has anyone else seen this at all? The event logs says Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: SOLUS 3 Deployment Server Database. Product Version: 3.3.27.0. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603.

I have of course googled the error code and it says its an unknown error!

aha, what you need is the @matt40k userguide

1603 errors are usually caused by files in use that the msi can't close automatically, but that userguide would be very useful. is it on this site somewhere??

i think it's a work in progress in that it's all put together but not written down yet.
i noticed vers. 3.4 is out on supportnet, tbh i'm waiting until all the little nuances are worked out by others.

Good idea I suppose. I kind of felt up for a challenge for the summer holiday though so might give it a go. At least if it goes wrong I have a bit of time to revert to a pre holiday state
