FMS Lock request time out period exceeded [Solved]
We've got one particular order record on FMS that we are unable to delete and keep getting the following error:
[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Lock request time out period exceeded [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]The statement has been terminated
I logged a call with Capita, only for them to come back with, it's a Microsoft problem, not caused by FMS and here is a link to an article How to Minimize SQL Server Blocking
I'm now waiting for them to confirm that it is ok to apply this setting to the CCSFMS db as I don't want to be held accountable if something else breaks.
Assuming they do, does anybody have any suggestions on a suitable time out period?

you should fire back with this quote : In many ways, the best way to avoid blocking is to write well-tuned applications that follow the tuning advice found on this website.
In the meantime, start with a shortish time, depending on how long it takes for the error to return. I'd have thought 10,000 ms isn't too bad.

So true!
I went for 1800 in the end as this was the example used on MSDN. It's enabled me to remove the order.
