My point exactly!Why a VPN ~ well it avoids Certificates, Firewall Rules, IP Addresses challenges that using HTTPS would bring
I would rather have the "Challenges" as you put them!
Just so that you are aware, I am not trying to cause a problem here. I am in the process of setting this up for the first (of many?) school and am working constructively with capita and the LA. I just dont like the idea of permanent VPN's into any schools networks from ANY outside party.
Its not that I think VPN's are insecure, its the people at the other end I dont trust. And by "people" I dont mean capita per se, I mean anyone at all.
