    Command reporter paramters [Solved]

    I'm confused about this parameters business.

    I've got a sims report that needs 2 inputs, surname & firstname
    I've got the point where command reporter will accept the paramsfile.xml and run through with no errors. but all I get back is a csv file with the column headings and no data

    the parameters file looks like this:
    Code:
    <?xml version ='1.0' encoding= 'utf-8'?>
    	<ReportParameters>
    		<Parameter id='ad1UZsHiqQlPgT3J/oly2w==' subreportfilter='False'>
    			<Values>
    				<Value>
    					Rxxxx
    				</Value>
    			</Values>
    		</Parameter>
    		<Parameter id='imPdWUkx6H4z804UEeUIpg==' subreportfilter='False'>
    			<Values>
    				<Value>
    					Dxxxx
    				</Value>
    			</Values>
    		</Parameter>
    	</ReportParameters>
    I'm 100% certain the values I'm using are correct and work. Not sure what to do to get this working.

    Does the SIMS user you're using to run the report have permissions to run that report? Test by logging in as that user and running the report.

    try removing the line breaks on your paramater values, it may be passing the line break character code:

    Code:
    <?xml version ='1.0' encoding= 'utf-8'?>
    	<ReportParameters>
    		<Parameter id='ad1UZsHiqQlPgT3J/oly2w==' subreportfilter='False'>
    			<Values>
    				<Value>Rxxxx</Value>
    			</Values>
    		</Parameter>
    		<Parameter id='imPdWUkx6H4z804UEeUIpg==' subreportfilter='False'>
    			<Values>
    				<Value>Dxxxx</Value>
    			</Values>
    		</Parameter>
    	</ReportParameters>

    I've fixed it!. 2 problems
    ~ the line breaks and a whole bunch of tabs...
    ~the id's the wrong way around from the report in sims.

    swapped the values and voila!

    Hi. I'm trying to do something similar in SIMS with commandreporter. I'm trying to return Behaviour data for the current date, whatever date the report is run on so that running it today will return behaviour data from today's date, running the same report tomorrow will return behaviour data from tomorrow's date. I've got as far as getting the list of parameters using /PARAMDEF, similar to your list at the top of this thread, but my Parameter id seems different. Pasting from my paramdef file, I get:

    <Parameter id="EffectiveDate" subreportfilter="FALSE" bypass="TRUE">

    whereas you seem to be getting a unique identifier for each parameter:

    <Parameter id='ad1UZsHiqQlPgT3J/oly2w==' subreportfilter='False'>

    <Parameter id='imPdWUkx6H4z804UEeUIpg==' subreportfilter='False'>

    I've looked around many commandreporter threads and I've never seen a Parameter id called EffectiveDate, they've all been what look like proper IDs, which I'm not getting and, as someone mentioned elsewhere here, "the Parameter ID value changes when the report is imported in to a different database, so that needs to be reflected in your scripts if you share them with anybody else, otherwise the filter is ignored and the report ran as though you ticked the "Accept All" option."

    I think this is what is happening to me but I'm not being given the ID.
