We currently pay County about £4500 for our support whereas capita came back at £6000 (plus £250 to move from the LA support). Cornwall must have got a good deal when they signed up!

What are they doing with all of that money?

All of these 16 bit applications which are still floating around... they should've been replaced ages ago to be honest.

Another thing to think about is training. Without your LEA support and a local training centre how far will staff have to (be prepared to) travel to receive training. If you loose a TT or the exam person through illness etc, then their replacements will need training. You can book Capita to provide onsite support, but that costs upwards of £1200 a day.

We have an independant training centre that offers courses on Sims just down the road. They host the classes for the LEA, but let us in if we pay the bills. They are cheaper than Capita's proper courses and really very good (and reasonably priced).
