Thumbs up [solved] Missing data in SIMS.net Report

I'm trying to create several reports in SIMS for use with the CommandReporter tool so I can extract data for an in-house application.

Everything seems to work fine, but in a few of the reports I've noticed some discrepancies. For example, one report details all current students and includes data such as admission, name, DOB, year, house, reg.

The report works and list all the students, but the year, house and reg data of students that have been added into SIMS since the start of this school year are blank. However, I can look these same students up within SIMS and all the data is there.

I'm not that familiar with SIMS and haven't used it much, but I created the report using the report designer, which seemed quite straightforward to use. I selected the People->Student focus, based on all students, then selected the details I needed from the Basic and Registration lists of available fields.

I added a filter to only include current students. I realise I could have based it on students on roll at the second stage of the design wizard, but that produced some other discrepancies (missing a few students completely).

Am I doing something a bit dim here, or is there something about the way SIMS works I don't know about that would explain this.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if you're inadvertently running it on a date in the past (from say back in September before this data was in place).
