right ok i have got my 64bit server ready for sims, what order do i have to do things on the server to install sims?

You will need to install MS SQLSERVER and create an instance

Done that. Do I just run simsinst as usual and setting up the server as normal. Then run sqlfms setup? What's the extra bit you need for fms is it somthing like the navite client I need to download as well?

If you have them, use the latest installable CDs. They'll make the process much easier. SIMS is August 2008, and FMS is November 2008. If you haven't got them, then try and obtain them. Then just use SIMSInst.exe or FMSInst.exe.
