I'm looking to configure our E-Portal website to 443 (https) for outside access. Server 2003, IIS 6 & SQL 2000.
Has anybody got any good doc's or links ?
Any pitfalls or gotcha's I should avoid ?
Thanks in advance
Dave

I think you're a brave man - I wouldn't allow direct access to it from outside as I was worried about DPA issues - I make them come in via Citrix - so at least I know whats going on.
Here is a direct link to the service manuals we get provided with, not really sure how much help they will be to you. In Birmingham i beleive almost every school as external access to eportal over https://.

You will need to customise how much information is on show to staff, pupils and parents. For instance when we set it up all teachers could search for pupils details, home tel number, doctors name, etc not the best setup. We upset some teachers by showing there home address and telephone number on there account when they logged in.
enjoy it, iti'll be fun!
Thanks - but the page /download is restricted, only BGfL access.
Can you email it to me? - I'll pm you
