Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question, we are moving our SIMS install to new servers over the summer (along with everything else) and I want to install it on server 2008 64bit running SQL 2005 64bit Full Edition. We are also looking to set it up so that the SIMS database and the s:\ drive is replicated between two servers. Was just wondering if anyone else has already done this? Capita have told us they fully support the 2008 64bit move, but I just want to see if anyone else has done it first to see if there are any unforeseen problems etc..
Thanks
Matt
Hi,
From September Capita will be supporting SQL 2008 so it may be worth moving to that at the same time. Saves you buying a 2005 licence and then having to buy 2008 a few months later.
I would speak to your LA support team for some advice. You will have a full year to complete to move to 2008 from 2005 if you decide not too.
Ian.

Yeah i will also be doing this over the holiday!and yes it is fully supported and yes it does work as i have done it in a test enviroment!
no problems at all sweet as a nut!
James.
Tip. Make sure your setups are up-to-date - SIMS Version Information - Capita Children's Services
Key one is : SIMS Sql Infrastructure.
Not sure about the whole replicating the DB.
