Does anyone have any experience good or bad of using recordlink writer with SIMS.
No-one's tried it then

Looks like a No.
I too am interested in it. It's not the only software of it's ilk, but was mentioned at a recent conference i went to.
There is a website for it somewhere, i'm sure i posted it up on SupportNet, you should have a look there as there maybe some more information. Also, from the Capita/SIMS website there is a link to it i think as they are a partner.
Anyway, it's not too expensive from what i remember i guess it depends what you want to do with it. You still have to provide log in details to SIMS, from whatever application you are using, Word, Outlook etc. I think the real benefit would be if you want to attach lots of the same letter to multiple students in bulk. The thing is i'm not convinced that sort of information needs to be held in SIMS.
Other more personalised features such as Late Letters etc, already have a mechanism for automatically attaching to a students' record and i'm sure in the future more things will be added to this list.
I am going to do a review here to see exactly what our needs are and if it's necessary, as we can use Quickletters for many tasks. So i need to work out if we really need it or if it's just nice to have...
Just wanted to give this a bump. I will try to trial but was keen to hear from any users of RecordLink with SIMS out there. Any advice on whether to rollout to all or just admin dept and key academic staff like senco, exam admin etc? Much appreciated.
We have tried the trial of RLW and were very impressed with it, and I am hoping to add it to my development bid for this year.
