Please help solve my headache!
Firstly, we're a Facility school and have been for an good number of years now but are at present investigating returning to SIMS in a years time in advance of BSF
My problem stems from a lack of information about the SIMS LG and what it can actually do. At present ePortal covers us for web-based registration (lesson by lesson), report writing, parental access to info, cover details and a host of other things. I have champions in school stating that the SIMS LG can do all this and more and that teachers do not need the SIMS client installed on their computers.
The LG that I've seen (and includes the Capita demo site) doesn't allow anything but parent acess to student information.
Am I wrong, or can the web-based part of SIMS do all this stuff?
David
note: I know this is the MIS forum and not the VLE but in this instance I think I'm in the correct location

Thanks for this, I'd been waiting to hear back about why this wasn't available since we purchased the platform.

Thanks for the info about the behaviour module - we have been patiently waiting for this for a while.

27th March 2009, 10:33 PM #5 That's great news Phil.
I have been eagerly awaiting the promised publication of the SLG Roadmap. Is it on the immediate horizon?
And David, have no fears - SIMS (and SLG) does do what it says on the tin. We have a number of relatively new staff who are delighted that they are now working with SIMS and can at last get the data they want, when they want it, and with a minimum of fuss. Some of their experiences of other MISs is frightening!
