Our LEA guru made us some custom assessment/tracking templates, unfortunately she has gone off long term sick and we need the templates editing.
Anyone know where these are likely to be held so I can go in and fiddle?
I can access them by going to Focus>assessment>templates the template has been called "tracking data".
I need to edit the Formula at the base level then re-import, but can't find them

I do a fair amount of work with assessment and templates, but if they are tracking grids you are referring to then i'm lost. Not playing with those until end of April.
You say you can access them from focus>assessment>templates, if you can then you should be able to open them up by double clicking on them from the list.
If you can't see it, from the search panel, try changing the owner to 'any template' or 'all' (i can't remember) and if that doesn't work do similar for the status in case it's somehow inactive.
Now you probably need to be at least in the assessment operator permissions group to edit the templates so check your permissions with your sims system manager. If you are then you can double click on any columns and access the formula to edit it.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by reimport, you shouldn't need to do that. However, if you can export the template and send it to me, i'll have a look and send it back so you can reimport it with any changes.
EDIT sorry once you've found it, if you want to to export go to Routines>Data Out>Assessment>Export then choose templates and find the relevant one.

Im having a similar problem. Some templates have been created by our LEA developed on their server and imported to our sims server. I can use the templates/add marksheets but I cant change the template itself all the edit buttons are greyed out. Anyone know of a way around this?

It sounds like you don't have high enough permissions in SIMS, you need to ask your SIMS manager to move you up to "assessment coordinator" to be able to edit other people's templates

Strange... you could try exporting them as Vik said, then re-import (Routines > Data In > Assessment > Import). Theoretically, that would then make you the owner, freeing you to edit them however you please.

19th May 2011, 03:18 PM #8 SIMS access rights don't work like those in the real world. If you are a system admin which you would assume was the highest you only get the system admin modules (ie no marksheets or assessment stuff)

Have you tried cloning the template, saving it with a different name and then trying to edit that?

It's because the template was created on another sims installation - you always need to clone first if you want to view or edit it

Thanks to MattMitchell from:

21st May 2011, 12:40 PM #12 What @MattMitchell says is indeed correct. All the permissions in the world won't allow you to edit a template / aspect / result set etc that was created on another SIMS DB and then imported into yours
