I ran Solus 2 on Monday to get the May update for Sims.net but it stopped with an error message whilst in the middle of downloading (cant rememebr of the top of my head what the error message was - its written down at work)
Now when I try to run Solus 2 again it says they are no updates available to download at this time. The server and the workstations do not have the latest version installed.
Does anybody know how I can go about downloading the May updates again so I can get my workstations up-to-date in time for the staff returning on Monday?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Sims.net May Update
You may need to call the Capita helpdeks tomorrow.
SOLUS 2 has a one shot download to minimise server load. If there are problems then Capita have to reset your download count.

I thought they was something similar in place.

Re: Sims.net May Update
Our SIMs upgrades are pretty much, no, completely spoon fed to us from our LA SIMs support guys, so I'm not too sure about what SOLUS 2, or 1 for that matter is. However, I gather we've recently moved to SOLUS 2, it didn't work for May's upgrade, so I was instructed on how to use SOLUS 1
If you know how to, or indeed are able to, use SOLUS 1 - maybe that'll work for you
Andy.

Latest warning message from the local SIMS team is not to import any CTF files containing information on multiple pupils until they release the June update ...
Good job we never import them anyway until we have confirmed details from the students ....

We heard about this one early last week. Good job really.
There is a fix coming....

I only heard about this bug AFTER I'd installed the upgrade - any ideas when the fix will be released?

If it's teh problem I think it is it's the one we found. Apparently it was all our fault until they foudn someone else with exactly the same problem. Glad we shifted SIMS responsibility on to someone else

it's the problem where every student imported gets the same address details as the first student entered - a simple error that they should have spotted far sooner

Hmm describes most of the errors I find with SIMS though. But I have been told that I am too cynical about sims now anyway so it's probably just me.

Mid June as far as I know- but with all the complaints we might be able to expect it sooner...

We put the new (June) release on today via Solus 1 without any problems. First time for everything! There are some new reports too, so remember to import those after you've run the update folks.
When everyone's SIMS.net is updated by Solus 2 (next month afaik) am I right in thinking we'll have a really hard time testing updates on a staging server with a clone of the live sims database? At the moment our SIMS God takes the mdf and ldf and puts them onto his test server to break that instead of the live one. Presumably by storing our version/patch level at their end, it would refuse to send us the update to our live system when we've vetted the release.

Yes I think this will be the case. I had to get my LEA to enable me to download the May update again. Not sure if they had the powers to do this or they had to contact capita direct.

I think there is a download only option so that you can carry the updates to another computer for testing.
THe problem with SOLUS 2 is what happens if there is a disruption in the download. Have to call Capita the following morning.
