This a follow up to my earlier thread on using Active Directory as a directory/phonebook.
I wonder wheter it will be worthwhile to allow the school \admin staff to populate all the phone number fields in a user record.
Of course this would involve a custom MSC console and OU delegation maybe.
Then again it maybe possible to do this using GAL editing in Outlook.
Should they be allowed to change group memebrships for departments etc.too as noone seems to want to give me uptodate information![]()

Personally I would rather keep these fields clear of that kind of information.
My AD structure for the kids has it populated with the school address & phone number, same for the few staff that are in that domain.
The LEA AD structure is the same - address & phone is that of the school.

I think that you can just update that info in Outlook if you have the right permissions as I remember at one time some kids managed to put data in via Outlook, and I think we tracked it back to a permissions thing.
