CMIS problems with latest upgrade warning

Just in case anyone was thinking of putting on the latest update this weekend and manglement hadn't bothered to forward this to you...

    Dear Colleague

    RE: Staff Attendance Issue
We have been made aware of a potential issue with regard to staff absences in Facility 2.73 Build 45. Under some circumstances it is possible that the data in the staff absence table is removed. We will be releasing a build in the next few days to prevent this issue.

    Schools using cover
For schools using cover then the data is retained in the cover table. The new build will restore the staff attendance data direct from this table, therefore there may be a few days that you will not be able to view staff absences on the staff attendance tab.

    Schools not using cover
Schools that do not use cover will need to ensure that they keep the backup that was taken prior to the upgrade to build 45, so that this table can be restored once the new build is released.

    Primary Schools
Primary schools that have not yet upgraded to 2.73 build 45 should not do so, they should wait for the new release at the beginning of next week.

Can I take this opportunity to apologise for this inconvenience.

    Regards

we upgraded about a week ago and no problems so far, but we did have a problem with attendance about 3 months ago - similar fix required to that in your email.

This was the fix used where are attendance was up the creek!

    DELETE a FROM ATTENDHIST a INNER JOIN ATTENDHIST t ON a.StudentId = t.StudentId and a.YrStart = t.YrStart and a.Poss = t.Poss and a.Att = t.Att and a.UnAuth = t.UnAuth and a.SchName = t.SchName and a.SchLEA = t.schLEA and a.SchNumber = t.SchNumber WHERE a.SetId = '2005/2006' and t.SetId = '2004/2005' and a.YrStart = '2003'

    DELETE ATTENDHIST FROM ATTENDHIST a INNER JOIN (SELECT * FROM ATTENDHIST WHERE SetId = '2005/2006' AND YrStart = '2003' AND (Att = 0 AND UnAuth = 0)) t ON a.SetId = t.SetId AND a.StudentId = t.StudentId AND a.YrStart = t.YrStart

INSERT INTO ATTENDHIST SELECT '2005/2006' SetId, StudentId, YrStart, Poss, Att, UnAuth, SchName, SchLEA, SchNumber FROM ATTENDHIST WHERE SetId = '2004/2005' AND YrStart = '2003'

SELECT * FROM ATTENDHIST WHERE SetId = '2005/2006' AND YrStart = '2003' AND StudentId IN (SELECT StudentId FROM ATTENDHIST WHERE SetId = '2005/2006' AND YrStart = '2003' GROUP BY StudentId HAVING COUNT(StudentId) > 1) ORDER BY StudentId

By the by - having skipped the upgrade mentioned above, I dl'd v2.73.51 a couple of weeks ago, but hung off installing it after the last mess and "Lo" - today there's 2.73.52 edition that fixes a problem with the version that fixed a problem with the first Summer release.

Think I'll wait before installing this one as well.
