We have a Sims admin who is having problems running reports that output to word (excel is fine)
I can run the report but the first time i do it says no data in table then if i kill their winword.exe process and try again it opens. Unfortunately for her this does not work (not much of a workaround anyway).
Office 2007 sp1 and Sims right upto date 4 days ago.. Does anyone have any knowledge of this issue??
Thanks

14th October 2008, 02:39 PM #2 As far as I am aware only Office 2003 is fully supported in Sims. You may have problems if your trying to use Office 2000 or 2007.

14th October 2008, 02:53 PM #3 Office 2007 supported
Office 2007 is supported see excerpt from sims website
Microsoft Office 2007
We have tested the running of SIMS products against Office 2007 and have
identified no issues as a result of upgrading to Office 2007 and the use of SIMS for
running reports from SIMS.net, Profiles and Assessment Manager.
We are currently looking at the new ribbon bars in Office 2007 with a view to
producing a SIMS version. Until we have these in place it is not possible to design
new reports or templates using Office 2007.
Schools will need to be aware that documents created in Office 2007 and saved to
the DMS can only be opened in Office 2007. There is no backward compatibility
provided by Microsoft. It is however possible to save a document created in 2007 as
a 2003 document.

14th October 2008, 02:56 PM #4 1. Check macros security is off/low
2. Re-import the templates
3. Re-install simsapplicationsetups, repeat 2
Also might be worth checking docstorage, if it's running on the default HTTP 8080, make sure you have the servername in the proxy exceptions (assuming your using a proxy)

14th October 2008, 09:00 PM #5 Do you already have Word 2007 open? If so try running the report with it closed and let the report open it.
I have read about this somewhere else but can't remember where. I think it was the document server upload, it will only allow one instance of word 2007 to be open
Will check when at work for my notes on it.

No word 2007 not open but the winword.exe is running in task manger after the report fails, so have to kill in manually
