Default SIMS upgrade backup problem

Hi,

We have a customer who is using Attix5 backup professional v 4.4 Server Edition (online backup) for a number of schools.

During August, they upgraded DbAttach from version 1.8 to 1.11 for each client and also performed a SIMS upgrade, just before the schools exam results came out. Since August 11th, they haven't been able to do any backup of any client SIMS database, and every client log file has the same error message shown below:

"Error:18:00:01 [SIMS Plugin] The version of DbAttach currently installed (1.11.1.0) is out of date and needs to be upgraded - skipping SIMS database backup"

It is obvious to me that the SIMS plugin is seeing the DbAttach version as 1.1 rather than 1.11. The minimum DbAttach version needed for a successful SIMS backup is 1.2, hence it is not backing up the SIMS database for every school server.

Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? Is this a problem with just the plugin, or is there something that can be done to adjust the version of DbAttach??

This is fairly urgent, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Try upgrading your Attix plug in - it's out of date as the problem you describe was fixed some time ago.

Are you from a LA as you say - We have a customer who is using Attix5 backup professional v 4.4 Server Edition (online backup) for a number of schools - interesting choice of words ?

I assume you've contacted Attix5 in the back burner to see what they say?

17 days without a back up at any site is scary and frankly if its taken this long to be noticed, its shocking.

You could/should deploy a simple batch file to do a stop service back up at least to ensure the data is kept safe. - Our LA released one of these whilst they fixed their own back up tool to play nicely with SQL2005.

Mind you, they updated their FAQ on the 14th of August but without any version control or timestamping its difficult to establish whether the version of the plugin they offer on their site is newer than yours.

Linky.
